TSPSC paper leak: Group I, AEE, DAO exams cancelled

Group-I preliminary examination will be re-conducted on June 11

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has cancelled three examinations following the paper leak that came to light on March 11. The cancelled exams include the Group I exam held on October 16, 2022, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) exam held on January 22, 2023, and Divisional Accounts Officer Grade-II (DAO) exam held on February 26, 2023.

According to the Commission, it is decided to conduct Group-I preliminary examination again on June 11, 2023. While the dates to reconduct AEE, and DAO examinations will be announced soon.


In the paper leak case that led to the cancellation of the March 5 exam, nine persons were arrested, including Pulidindi Praveen Kumar, who worked as an assistant section officer in the TSPSC since 2017 and was the main accused in the case. It was found that Praveen Kumar had sold the question paper to a government Hindi teacher and her husband for Rs 10 lakh, and they eventually sold it for Rs 13.5 lakh to two individuals who appeared for the exam. Praveen Kumar had also appeared for the exam himself, according to the investigation. The case was transferred to the SIT on March 14, headed by additional commissioner (Crimes & SIT) AR Srinivas.

The TSPSC issued a notification on September 12, 2022, for 837 vacancies, which included posts of assistant engineers, municipal assistant engineers, technical officers, and junior technical officers in various engineering departments. The exam for these posts was held on March 5, which has now been cancelled.
